Mood: waiting for wind
14th August 2007
Windsurfing: St Jean De Monts
Wind Direction: X-on port tack
Wind Stength: F5-6
Surf / Sea State: choppy with waves on rising ti
Air Temperature: chilly for time of y
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: wet 'n' windy
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Started on 6.4m Remedy with 3S97 for approx one hour before increasing winds forced changedown. Fetched the 5.6m Remedy and pretty much sailed the day out on that. Could have been on 5.0m & Pocket Wave 78 at times, but sailing alone at a venue I've not sailed before with very changeable weather it just felt safer to stick with the bigger kit

Sailing north of the main windsurf area in St Jean De Monts as was camping at Paree du Jonc and could walk over dune with kit from the site. Found couple spots where able to 'free-camp' and referenced for future visit.

Beach sandy and waves got bigger on rising tide. Generally pretty choppy, but made a change to be wind powered after a week of surfing and no wind further south .... though truly missed the sunshine today !!

Eventually some natives came out to play but the wind started to ease a bit as they did - perhaps that's why they came out - and after approx 4-5 hours on the water I was cream crackered .... retired to camper for cold beer and some scoff.
